How LOCCOG Operates

LOCCOG brings together community conservation groups around Lake Ol-Bolossat to promote a coordinated approach to conserving the lake and its catchment areas.
To date, LOCCOG has united more than 45 organized conservation groups across the seven wards—Kiriita, Igwa Miti, Gatimu, Weru, Rurii, Shamata, and Central—representing nearly 4,000 members actively engaged in diverse conservation activities.
LOCCOG is governed by a nine-member executive committee, elected by members from all seven wards. The committee provides leadership and coordination for the network and operates from a field office located at Kichakani Hotel and Resort.
